Kevin Drew

Kevin Drew, born on September ninth, nineteen seventy-six, is a multifaceted Canadian musician and songwriter renowned for his role in shaping the baroque-pop landscape through the collective Broken Social Scene, which he co-founded with Brendan Canning. His musical journey also includes his involvement in the lesser-known project KC Accidental, alongside fellow band member Charles Spearin.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Drew has ventured into film, directing and writing a short film titled The Water in two thousand eight, inspired by his bandmate and former partner, Leslie Feist. He has also contributed to various charitable projects, including the AIDS benefit album Dark Was the Night in two thousand nine, showcasing his commitment to social causes.

Drew's artistic roots trace back to west Toronto, where he attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts, sharing the stage with notable talents like Emily Haines of Metric and Amy Millan of Stars. His personal life includes a marriage to Jo-ann Goldsmith, a social worker and occasional trumpet player in Broken Social Scene.

His solo career has seen significant milestones, with the release of his second album, Darlings, on March eighteenth, two thousand fourteen, followed by the album It's Decided in two thousand fifteen, a collaboration with songwriter Andy Kim. Most recently, Drew released his third solo album, Influences, on July sixteenth, two thousand twenty-one, which he crafted while residing in England during the year twenty twenty, utilizing a music-making app called Endlesss.
