Kevin Hern

Kevin Hern, born on December fourth, nineteen sixty-one, is a prominent American politician and businessman hailing from Oklahoma. A member of the Republican Party, he has represented Oklahoma's first congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since his election in two thousand eighteen.

Originally from Missouri and raised in Pope County, Arkansas, Hern graduated from Arkansas Tech University in nineteen eighty-six. He briefly attended the Georgia Institute of Technology before embarking on a successful business career. In nineteen ninety-seven, he purchased his first McDonald's franchise, and by nineteen ninety-nine, he had earned his MBA from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. After relocating to Oklahoma in nineteen ninety-nine, Hern expanded his franchise ownership to a total of eighteen locations in the Tulsa metropolitan area.

Hern's political career began with his election to Congress in two thousand eighteen, and he has since been re-elected in two thousand twenty, two thousand twenty-two, and two thousand twenty-four. In two thousand twenty-three, he took on the role of chair of the Republican Study Committee, a group of conservative Republicans. Notably, during the January two thousand twenty-three election for Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Hern was nominated as a protest candidate against Kevin McCarthy. Following McCarthy's removal as speaker, Hern briefly entered the race to replace him in October two thousand twenty-three.

With the resignation of Senator Markwayne Mullin to assume the role of U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Hern has announced his candidacy for the two thousand twenty-six United States Senate election in Oklahoma, marking another significant step in his political journey.
