Khawaja Asif, born on August ninth, nineteen forty-nine, is a prominent Pakistani politician and banker, currently serving as the Defence Minister of Pakistan since two thousand twenty-two. His political journey began in nineteen ninety-one when he was elected to the Senate during Nawaz Sharif's first term. Since then, he has been a steadfast member of the National Assembly from Sialkot, having been elected for the seventh time in two thousand twenty-four.
Asif's political career is marked by significant roles, including his tenure as Minister for Foreign Affairs in the Abbasi cabinet from August two thousand seventeen to April two thousand eighteen. He also held multiple cabinet positions under Nawaz Sharif's third term from two thousand thirteen to two thousand seventeen, including Minister for Defence and Minister for Water and Power.
