Khoren Oganesian

Khoren Oganesian, born on January 10, 1955, is a celebrated figure in Armenian football, known for his remarkable career as both a player and a coach. His journey in the world of football began as a talented midfielder, where he made a significant impact on the Soviet Union national team and at the club level with Ararat Yerevan, a prominent team in the Soviet Top League and Armenian Premier League.

Throughout his career, Oganesian showcased his exceptional skills, participating in two hundred ninety-five official matches in the USSR championships and scoring an impressive ninety-three goals for Ararat. This remarkable achievement not only set a record for Armenian football but also solidified his status as a legend in the sport.

In recognition of his contributions to football, Oganesian was awarded the Master of Sport of the USSR, International Class title in nineteen seventy-six. His legacy continued to shine as he was honored as the Golden Player of Armenia in November two thousand three, celebrating his status as the nation's most outstanding player over the past fifty years.

Further accolades followed, including being named the best player of Armenia in the twentieth century in a survey conducted by the Football Federation of Armenia in two thousand five. On May twenty-eight, two thousand ten, he received the prestigious Khorenatsi medal from the President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in recognition of his significant contributions to the country.
