Killer Mike

Killer Mike, born on April twentieth, nineteen seventy-five, is a multifaceted artist known for his contributions as a rapper, singer, songwriter, actor, and activist. He gained prominence with his debut studio album, Monster, released in two thousand three under Columbia Records, which received critical acclaim and peaked at number ten on the Billboard 200. After parting ways with the label, he released two more albums, I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind in two thousand six and its sequel in two thousand eight, before signing with T.I.'s Grand Hustle to release Pledge in two thousand eleven and later, R.A.P. Music in two thousand twelve through Williams Street.

In two thousand thirteen, Killer Mike collaborated with producer El-P to form the duo Run the Jewels, which quickly garnered attention for their self-titled debut album released in June of that year. The duo continued to produce critically acclaimed sequels, including Run the Jewels 2 in two thousand fourteen, Run the Jewels 3 in two thousand sixteen, and RTJ4 in two thousand twenty, with the latter matching the chart position of his debut solo album on the Billboard 200. Their collaboration on Danger Mouse's single 'Chase Me' in two thousand seventeen also earned a Grammy Award nomination.

Beyond his musical endeavors, Killer Mike is a passionate social and political activist, addressing issues such as social inequality, police brutality, and systemic racism. He has used his platform to lecture at colleges, write for publications like Billboard, and engage in discussions about race relations and police misconduct. A notable supporter of Bernie Sanders, he actively campaigned for him during both the two thousand sixteen and two thousand twenty presidential elections.

In addition to his music career, Killer Mike has appeared in films such as Idlewild, Baby Driver, ATL, and America: The Motion Picture. His six-episode docu-series, Trigger Warning with Killer Mike, premiered on Netflix in January two thousand nineteen, exploring social issues affecting Black Americans. Furthermore, his weekly interview program, Love & Respect, which began airing in twenty twenty-one, won an Emmy Award in twenty twenty-two, showcasing his commitment to meaningful dialogue.
