King Ding of Zhou

King Ding of Zhou, known in Chinese as 周定王 (Zhōu Dìng Wáng), was a prominent figure in the Zhou dynasty, born as Ji Yu. He was the son of King Qing and the brother of King Kuang, his predecessor on the throne.

During his reign, King Ding demonstrated diplomatic acumen by sending an official named Wangsun Man to present gifts to the Chu army. This act was significant in fostering relations with neighboring states, particularly with King Zhuang of Chu.

King Ding's leadership was marked by efforts to maintain stability and strengthen the Zhou dynasty's influence during a time of political complexity. His actions reflected the ongoing challenges faced by the Zhou rulers in navigating alliances and conflicts.
