Kings of Leon, an American rock band, emerged from Mount Juliet, Tennessee, in 1999, comprising brothers Caleb, Nathan, and Jared Followill, along with their cousin Matthew Followill. Initially, their music showcased a fusion of Southern rock and garage rock, enriched with blues influences. Over the years, their sound has evolved, embracing a more alternative rock style that has captivated audiences worldwide.

The band's breakthrough came in the United Kingdom, where they achieved remarkable success with nine top 40 singles and garnered two BRIT Awards in 2008. Their third album, Because of the Times, marked a significant milestone by reaching the No. 1 spot on the UK Albums Chart, solidifying their presence in the music scene.

In September 2008, the release of Only by the Night propelled Kings of Leon to new heights in the United States. The album featured chart-topping singles such as 'Sex on Fire', 'Use Somebody', and 'Notion', all of which dominated the Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. This album became their first platinum-selling record in the U.S. and was recognized as the best-selling album of 2008 in Australia, achieving platinum certification nine times.

Following their success, the band continued to release a series of albums, including Come Around Sundown in 2010, Mechanical Bull in 2013, and Walls in 2016. Their eighth studio album, When You See Yourself, was released on March 5, 2021, and they are set to unveil their ninth studio album, Can We Please Have Fun, on May 10, 2024. Throughout their career, Kings of Leon has received numerous accolades, including four Grammy Awards from twelve nominations, with 'Use Somebody' winning Record of the Year in 2010.
