Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Kit Bond

Kit Bond, born on March sixth, nineteen thirty-nine, is a distinguished American attorney and politician hailing from Missouri. A prominent figure in the Republican Party, he made significant contributions to the political landscape of his state and the nation.

Bond's political career began with his election as State Auditor of Missouri, a position he held from nineteen seventy-one to nineteen seventy-three. He then ascended to the governorship, serving two non-consecutive terms from nineteen seventy-three to nineteen seventy-seven and again from nineteen eighty-one to nineteen eighty-five. His first term as governor was particularly notable as it ended a twenty-eight-year streak of Democratic leadership in that office.

In nineteen eighty-six, Bond was elected to the U.S. Senate, defeating Democrat Harriett Woods with a margin of fifty-three to forty-seven percent. His tenure in the Senate lasted from nineteen eighty-seven until two thousand eleven, during which he was re-elected in nineteen ninety-two, nineteen ninety-eight, and two thousand four. On January eighth, two thousand nine, he announced his decision not to seek a fifth term, and he was succeeded by fellow Republican Roy Blunt on January third, two thousand eleven.

After retiring from the Senate, Bond continued to influence the legal and political realms as a partner at Thompson Coburn, further solidifying his legacy as a dedicated public servant.
