Kito Lorenc, born on March fourth, nineteen thirty-eight, is a distinguished Sorbian writer, translator, poet, and playwright. He is notably recognized as the grandson of the prominent writer and politician Jakub Lorenc-Zalěski, which undoubtedly influenced his literary pursuits.

His educational journey began at the Sorbian boarding high school in Cottbus, where he studied from nineteen fifty-two to nineteen fifty-six. Following this, he majored in Slavic studies at the University of Leipzig from nineteen fifty-six to nineteen sixty-one, laying a strong foundation for his future career.

Between nineteen sixty-one and nineteen seventy-two, Lorenc contributed to the Institute for Sorbian People Research in Bautzen, where he engaged deeply with Sorbian culture and literature. His career continued to flourish as he took on the role of dramaturge at the State Ensemble for Sorbian People's Culture from nineteen seventy-two to nineteen seventy-nine.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Kito Lorenc is a proud member of the Sächsischen Akademie der Künste. He currently resides as a freelance writer in Wuischke, near Hochkirch, where he continues to create and inspire through his literary works.
