Kobayashi Issa

Kobayashi Issa, born on June fifteenth, seventeen sixty-three, was a distinguished Japanese poet, painter, and writer, celebrated primarily for his exquisite haiku. Known affectionately by his pen name, Issa, which translates to 'Cup-of-tea,' he carved a unique niche in the world of literature that resonates even today.

Issa is revered as one of the four great masters of haiku in Japan, alongside the likes of Bashō, Buson, and Shiki.
