Kodak Black

Bill Kahan Kapri, known to the world as Kodak Black, was born on June 11, 1997. This American rapper, singer, and songwriter first captured the public's attention with his breakout tracks "No Flockin" and "Skrt" in 2014. These songs not only showcased his unique style but also led to a significant recording contract with Atlantic Records. "No Flockin" achieved double platinum status from the Recording Industry of America (RIAA), while "Skrt" earned platinum certification, marking Kodak's initial foray into the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2017, Kodak Black's single "Tunnel Vision" propelled him further into the spotlight, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100. This success set the stage for his debut studio album, Painting Pictures, which peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. That same year, he released his commercial mixtape, Project Baby 2, which climbed to number two on the charts and featured the triple platinum-certified hit "Roll in Peace" alongside XXXTentacion.

His second studio album, Dying to Live, released in 2018, marked a pinnacle in his career, debuting at the top of the Billboard 200. The album included the chart-topping single "Zeze," featuring Travis Scott and Offset, which reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and received sextuple platinum certification, solidifying Kodak's status in the music industry.

Despite his musical achievements, Kodak Black's career has been marred by legal troubles and controversies. His legal issues began in middle school and escalated in the late 2010s, including a rape accusation in 2016 and a subsequent plea bargain in 2021 for assault and battery. In 2019, he faced federal charges for making false statements to possess weapons, resulting in a nearly four-year prison sentence, which was commuted by President Donald Trump in 2021.

While incarcerated, Kodak Black released his third album, Bill Israel, in 2020, which took a different direction from his previous works. His 2021 single "Super Gremlin" marked a resurgence in his career, peaking at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. This track was featured on his fourth album, Back for Everything, released in 2022, followed by his fifth and sixth albums, Pistolz & Pearlz and When I Was Dead, both launched in 2023.
