Koen Verweij

Koen Verweij, born on August 26, 1990, is a distinguished former Dutch speed skater and inline speed skater. His journey in the world of skating began with the Jong Oranje team of the national skating union, KNSB, where he honed his skills and showcased his talent.

In a significant career move at the conclusion of the 2008–09 skating season, Verweij transitioned from the Jong Oranje team to the commercial team of TVM. This shift marked a pivotal moment in his professional life, allowing him to further develop his competitive edge in the sport.

Throughout his career, Verweij achieved remarkable milestones, including holding the Dutch national record in the 1500 meters distance. He maintained this impressive record from December 9, 2017, until March 10, 2019, solidifying his status as one of the top competitors in his field.
