Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Kofi Awoonor

Kofi Awoonor, born on March thirteenth, nineteen thirty-five, was a distinguished Ghanaian poet, author, and diplomat whose literary contributions resonated deeply with the themes of decolonization in Africa. His work masterfully intertwined the rich poetic traditions of his native Ewe people with contemporary and religious symbolism, creating a unique voice that captured the essence of a transformative era.

Initially writing under the pseudonym George Awoonor-Williams, he later became known as Kofi Nyidevu Awoonor. His literary prowess was complemented by his academic role as a professor of African literature at the University of Ghana, where he inspired countless students with his insights into the continent's rich literary heritage.

Tragically, Professor Awoonor's life was cut short during the horrific September two thousand thirteen attack at the Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi, Kenya. He was attending the Storymoja Hay Festival at the time, a testament to his commitment to promoting African literature and culture on international platforms.
