Kōhei Horikoshi

Kōhei Horikoshi, born on November twentieth, nineteen eighty-six, is a distinguished Japanese manga artist celebrated for his remarkable contributions to the world of manga. He is best known for creating the acclaimed series Oumagadoki Zoo, Barrage, and the globally popular My Hero Academia, all of which have been serialized in Shueisha's renowned shōnen manga magazine, Weekly Shōnen Jump.

Horikoshi's magnum opus, My Hero Academia, has achieved phenomenal success, with over one hundred million copies in circulation by April twenty twenty-four, solidifying its status as one of the best-selling manga series of all time. His artistic journey began in Aichi Prefecture, where he honed his skills and passion for storytelling.

A graduate of Toho High School and Nagoya University of Arts, Horikoshi's early career included working as an assistant to Yasuki Tanaka, the creator of notable works such as Summer Time Rendering and Hitomi no Catoblepas. This experience helped shape his unique style and narrative approach.

As a child, Horikoshi was deeply influenced by iconic manga series like Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto, which ignited his passion for the medium. He also drew inspiration from the works of Yuko Osada, particularly Toto!: The Wonderful Adventure. In addition to manga, Horikoshi is an avid fan of American superhero comic books, especially those published by Marvel Comics.
