Komeil Ghasemi, born on February twenty-seventh, nineteen eighty-eight, is a retired Iranian wrestler renowned for his remarkable achievements in the sport. Hailing from Juybar in Iran's Mazandaran province, he spent his formative years in Sari before returning to Juybar, where he began to pursue wrestling seriously. Ghasemi's dedication and talent culminated in a gold medal victory in the men's freestyle 120 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics, a triumph that came after the disqualification of two competitors for doping violations.
Ghasemi's Olympic success established him as the most accomplished Iranian heavyweight wrestler in Olympic history. His prowess on the mat was further demonstrated at the 2011 Asian Wrestling Championships, where he secured a silver medal in the 120 kg freestyle category. Following his Olympic debut, he continued to excel, winning the 120 kg weight class at the 2013 Freestyle World Cup held in Tehran, contributing to Iran's gold medal in the tournament.
In 2014, Ghasemi added to his accolades by clinching a gold medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in the 125 kg freestyle tournament.
