Konstantin Orbelyan

Konstantin Orbelyan, born on July twenty-ninth, nineteen twenty-eight, was a distinguished Armenian pianist, conductor, and composer. He made significant contributions to the world of music, particularly as the head of the State Estrada Orchestra of Armenia, where he showcased his exceptional talent and leadership.

In recognition of his artistic achievements, Orbelyan was honored with the title of People's Artist of the USSR in nineteen seventy-nine. His influence extended beyond performance; he played a vital role in the music community as a board member of the Union of Soviet Composers and served as the secretary of the Armenian Composer's Union starting in nineteen eighty-three.

Additionally, he held the esteemed position of Vice-President of the All-Soviet Musical Society of the USSR, further solidifying his impact on the musical landscape of the region. His legacy continues through his family, as he was the uncle of his namesake, Constantine Orbelian, who also pursued a career in music.
