Köten

Köten, born in the year one thousand one, emerged as a prominent Cuman–Kipchak chieftain and military leader during the tumultuous mid-thirteenth century. His strategic prowess was evident as he forged a significant alliance with the Kievan Rus' in a bid to resist the advancing Mongol forces. This collaboration, however, culminated in a fateful encounter at the Kalka River in the year one thousand two hundred twenty-three, where Köten and his allies faced a devastating defeat.

In the aftermath of this loss, Köten led a formidable contingent of forty thousand huts into Hungary. There, he sought refuge and formed an alliance with the Hungarian king, embracing Catholicism in a bid to solidify his position. His journey was marked by a blend of military ambition and cultural adaptation, showcasing his ability to navigate the complexities of the era.

Tragically, Köten's life was cut short when he fell victim to the treachery of the Hungarian nobility. Despite his efforts to forge alliances and protect his people, the political landscape proved perilous, leading to his assassination.
