Kristaps Porziņģis

Kristaps Porziņģis, born on August 2, 1995, in Liepāja, Latvia, is a professional basketball player currently showcasing his talents with the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Standing at an impressive seven feet two inches, Porziņģis has earned the nickname 'the Unicorn' due to his unique ability to shoot three-pointers and make plays as both a power forward and center.

Porziņģis began his professional journey in 2012 with Sevilla, where he quickly ascended through the youth ranks to become a key player for the senior team by 2013. His remarkable skills were recognized when he won the EuroCup Basketball Rising Star award in 2015, making him the youngest recipient of this honor at just nineteen years old.

In 2016, Porziņģis declared for the NBA draft and was selected fourth overall by the New York Knicks. During his time in New York, he was viewed as a potential cornerstone for the franchise and earned an All-Star selection in 2018. However, after a series of disagreements with the front office, he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2019.

While in Dallas, Porziņģis faced challenges with injuries and inconsistent performance, leading to another trade in 2022 to the Washington Wizards. His time in Washington marked a resurgence in his career, culminating in a trade to the Boston Celtics in 2023. With the Celtics, he achieved the pinnacle of success by winning an NBA championship in 2024 before being traded to the Atlanta Hawks in 2025.
