His remarkable journey in wrestling began with a gold medal victory in freestyle wrestling at the nineteen ninety-six Summer Olympics, an achievement made even more extraordinary as he competed with a broken neck. This pivotal moment marked the start of his illustrious career, which saw him gain widespread fame during his tenures in WWE from nineteen ninety-eight to two thousand six and again from two thousand seventeen to two thousand nineteen, as well as in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) from two thousand seven to two thousand sixteen.

Angle's wrestling prowess was evident early on at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where he became a two-time NCAA Division I Wrestling Champion in the Heavyweight division. His accolades continued to accumulate as he secured gold medals at the nineteen ninety-five World Wrestling Championships and the nineteen ninety-six Summer Olympics.
