Kurt Student

Kurt Student, born on May twelfth, nineteen hundred, was a prominent German general in the Luftwaffe during World War II. Renowned as an early pioneer of airborne forces, he played a crucial role in the establishment and development of the paratrooper unit known as the Fallschirmjäger. As the most senior member of this elite force, Student commanded it throughout the war, showcasing his leadership and strategic acumen.

One of Student's most notable achievements was leading the first major airborne attack in history during the Battle for The Hague in May nineteen forty. This operation marked a significant milestone in military tactics and demonstrated the effectiveness of airborne troops. Additionally, he commanded the Fallschirmjäger during its last major airborne operation, the invasion of Crete in May nineteen forty-one. Despite facing considerable German losses, the operation was deemed a success and prompted the Allies to accelerate their own airborne training and development.

However, Student's legacy is marred by his post-war trial in nineteen forty-seven, where he was convicted of war crimes related to the mistreatment and murder of prisoners of war by his men in Crete. He was also implicated in a series of reprisal massacres against Cretan civilians in nineteen forty-one, yet he managed to evade severe punishment for these actions.
