Kyle Palmieri, born on February 1, 1991, is an accomplished American professional ice hockey player currently serving as a forward and alternate captain for the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League (NHL). His journey in hockey began on Long Island, where he played youth hockey for teams sponsored by the New Jersey Devils at Codey Arena in West Orange, New Jersey.

After attending St. Peter's Preparatory School for two years, Palmieri earned a spot on the USA Hockey National Team Development Program (NTDP). During his tenure with the NTDP, he showcased his talent by scoring fifteen goals and providing fifteen assists in thirty-three games. His impressive performance led to his selection in the first round, twenty-sixth overall, by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Following his draft, Palmieri played one season of college hockey with the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish before turning professional. He began his career with the Ducks' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch, and spent his initial three seasons splitting time between the Crunch and the Ducks. After five seasons with the Ducks, he was traded to the New Jersey Devils, where he continued to excel and set numerous career-highs over six seasons.

In addition to his success in the NHL, Palmieri has represented the United States on the international stage at both junior and senior levels, beginning with his participation in the 2007 Under-17 Four Nations Tournament. After six impactful seasons with the Devils, he was traded to the New York Islanders, where he continues to make his mark in the league.
