Larry Flynt

Larry Claxton Flynt Jr., born on November 1, 1942, was a prominent American publisher and the driving force behind Larry Flynt Publications (LFP). Known for producing a range of adult entertainment, including the infamous Hustler magazine, Flynt's influence extended beyond print to include pornographic videos and television channels such as Hustler TV.

Throughout his career, Flynt became embroiled in numerous high-profile legal battles that centered around the First Amendment, advocating fiercely for freedom of expression. His commitment to this cause was unwavering, even as he faced personal challenges, including being paralyzed from the waist down following an assassination attempt in 1978 by serial killer Joseph Paul Franklin.

In recognition of his impact on the adult industry, Arena magazine honored Flynt in 2003 by ranking him as the number one most powerful person in porn. His life and career were further immortalized in the 1996 biographical drama film, The People vs. Larry Flynt, directed by Miloš Forman and featuring Woody Harrelson in the lead role.
