Lars Klingbeil, born on February twenty-third, nineteen seventy-eight, is a prominent German politician and political scientist. He has held the esteemed position of Vice Chancellor of Germany and Federal Minister of Finance since May sixth, twenty twenty-five. A dedicated member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Klingbeil has been serving as the SPD's Co-leader since twenty twenty-one, initially alongside Saskia Esken until twenty twenty-five, and currently with Bärbel Bas.

His political journey began in two thousand one when he became a member of the City Council of Munster and the District Council of Heide. Klingbeil's early involvement in politics included a brief tenure as a Member of the Bundestag in two thousand five, followed by a return to the Bundestag after the two thousand nine Federal Election. From two thousand three to two thousand seven, he also served as the Deputy Leader of the Jusos, the youth wing of the SPD.

Before his current roles, Klingbeil was the General Secretary of the SPD from December two thousand seventeen to December two thousand twenty-one. His political affiliations include membership in the Seeheim Circle, a faction within the SPD known for its more economically right-leaning perspectives.
