As the founder, lead singer, songwriter, and rhythm guitarist of the influential band Against Me!, she has carved a unique niche in the music industry. Grace's artistry extends beyond her work with Against Me!, as she also leads the band Laura Jane Grace & the Devouring Mothers, a solo project she initiated in two thousand sixteen.

Grace's journey is marked by her courageous decision to publicly come out as transgender in May two thousand twelve, making her one of the first highly visible punk rock musicians to do so.
