Laurent Koscielny, born on September 10, 1985, in Tulle, France, is a distinguished former professional footballer who made his mark as a centre back. Currently, he serves as the sporting director for Ligue 1 club Lorient, showcasing his expertise beyond the pitch.

Koscielny's football journey began in the youth ranks of various clubs before he joined Guingamp in 2003. His professional debut came swiftly, but after facing challenges playing out of position as a right back, he transferred to Tours. There, he flourished as a central defender, playing a pivotal role in the team's promotion to Ligue 1 and earning a spot in the Ligue 2 Team of the Season.

In 2009, Koscielny's talent caught the attention of Lorient, where he continued to impress, leading to a transfer to Arsenal for a fee of eight point four five million pounds.
