Laurent Mekies

Laurent Mekies, born on April twenty-eighth, nineteen seventy-seven, is a distinguished French engineer and team manager in the world of Formula One. His career commenced in junior single-seater categories, where he honed his skills before making a significant leap to Asiatech and later Minardi, serving as a race engineer.

His expertise led him to Toro Rosso, where he excelled as chief engineer and head of vehicle performance. Mekies' journey took a pivotal turn when he joined the FIA as Safety Director, eventually rising to the position of Deputy Formula One Race Director, showcasing his commitment to enhancing safety in the sport.
