Lazarus You Heung-sik, born on November seventeenth, nineteen fifty-one, is a distinguished South Korean prelate of the Catholic Church. He has made history as the first Korean to lead a department within the Roman Curia, currently serving as the Prefect of the Dicastery for the Clergy since two thousand twenty-one.
Before his appointment to the Dicastery, You held the position of Bishop of Daejeon from two thousand five to two thousand twenty-one. His journey in the episcopate began as a coadjutor bishop under Bishop Joseph Kyeong Kap-ryong, where he served for two years, contributing significantly to the diocese.
