Leander Dendoncker

Leander Dendoncker, born on April 15, 1995, is a talented Belgian professional footballer known for his versatility on the pitch, playing as both a defensive midfielder and centre-back. Currently, he represents La Liga club Real Oviedo, showcasing his skills in the Spanish league.

Dendoncker's football journey began at Anderlecht, where he joined the youth academy in 2009. He made his professional debut in July 2013, quickly establishing himself as a key player. Over his tenure at the club, he made 171 appearances and netted eleven goals, contributing to the team's success with two Belgian Super Cups and a Belgian Pro League title.

In 2018, Dendoncker took a significant step in his career by signing with Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan, which later turned into a permanent transfer for a fee of fifteen million euros. During his time with Wolves, he made 159 appearances and scored twelve goals. In September 2022, he transitioned to Aston Villa, and in 2024, he was loaned to Serie A club Napoli and then returned to Anderlecht.

On the international stage, Dendoncker has represented Belgium at both youth and senior levels. He made his senior debut in June 2015 and was part of the national squad that achieved a remarkable third-place finish at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
