Lecrae

Lecrae, born on October ninth, nineteen seventy-nine, is a multifaceted American artist known for his contributions as a Christian rapper, singer-songwriter, actor, and record producer. He embarked on his musical journey in two thousand four and has since released ten studio albums and four mixtapes as a solo artist. Lecrae is also a co-founder of the influential hip-hop collective 116, which has played a significant role in shaping the genre.

His debut albums, Real Talk in two thousand four and After the Music Stops in two thousand six, were released independently and garnered critical acclaim. The turning point in his career came with his third album, Rebel, in two thousand eight, which made history as the first Christian hip-hop album to reach the top of the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart and to enter the Billboard 200. Following the release of his fourth album, Rehab, in two thousand ten, Lecrae gained mainstream recognition, particularly after his standout performance at the 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher.

In two thousand twelve, his sixth album, Gravity, was hailed as a landmark in Christian hip-hop, peaking at number three on the Billboard 200 and earning him a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, making him the first hip-hop artist to achieve this honor. His seventh album, Anomaly, released in two thousand fourteen, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, marking another significant milestone in his career.

In May two thousand sixteen, Lecrae signed with Columbia Records, leading to the release of his third mixtape, Church Clothes 3, and his eighth album, All Things Work Together, in two thousand seventeen. He later collaborated with producer Zaytoven on the album Let the Trap Say Amen in two thousand eighteen. After leaving Columbia in early two thousand twenty, he released his tenth album, Restoration, in August of that year.

Beyond music, Lecrae has co-founded several media entities, including Reach Records, ReachLife Ministries, and 3 Strand Films. He has received numerous accolades, including Artist of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards and Best Gospel Artist at the BET Awards. Lecrae is also known for his advocacy on social issues, including racial justice and fatherhood, partnering with notable figures to promote these causes.
