Lee Won-hee, born on July nineteenth, nineteen eighty-one, is a celebrated South Korean judoka renowned for his exceptional achievements in the sport. He made history by clinching the gold medal in the men's lightweight division at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens, Greece. His remarkable journey in judo also includes being crowned the world champion in two thousand three, as well as securing gold medals at the 2006 Asian Games and the 2003 Asian Judo Championships.

During the pivotal Olympic match, Lee showcased his skill by winning with an Ippon against Russia's Vitaly Makarov, just nine seconds before the bout concluded. Leading throughout the match, he executed a brilliant Drop Seoi Nage combined with Kouchi gari, forcefully bringing Makarov onto his back. His outstanding performance earned him the title of top judoka at the 2004 Olympics, and he became well-known for his favorite technique, Tai Otoshi.
