Lee Yong-dae

Lee Yong-dae, born on September eleventh, nineteen eighty-eight, is a distinguished South Korean badminton player renowned for his exceptional skills in both men's and mixed doubles. Throughout his illustrious career, he achieved the remarkable feat of reaching the world number one ranking with four different partners, including Jung Jae-sung, Ko Sung-hyun, and Yoo Yeon-seong in men's doubles, as well as Lee Hyo-jung in mixed doubles.

With a staggering total of forty-three Superseries titles to his name, Lee holds the record for the most titles won by any doubles player in a single discipline, with thirty-seven in men's doubles and six in mixed doubles. His dominance in men's doubles is highlighted by an impressive one hundred seventeen consecutive weeks as the world number one, a testament to his skill and consistency.

After clinching victory at the 2016 Korean Superseries alongside Yoo Yeon-seong, Lee announced his retirement from international badminton. However, his passion for the sport led him to make a comeback at the end of twenty seventeen, where he formed a new partnership with Kim Gi-jung in twenty eighteen.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to badminton, Lee Yong-dae was inducted into the BWF Badminton Hall of Fame on December ninth, twenty twenty-four, solidifying his legacy as one of the sport's greats.
