Leif Hoste

Leif Hoste, born on July seventeenth, nineteen seventy-seven in Kortrijk, is a retired Belgian professional road racing cyclist. His career was marked by significant achievements, including winning two stages and the overall title at the 2006 Three Days of De Panne. Hoste also claimed the Belgian national time trial championship three times, in the years two thousand one, two thousand six, and two thousand seven.

In addition to his national titles, Hoste made a name for himself in one-day classics, finishing second in the prestigious Tour of Flanders in two thousand four, two thousand six, and two thousand seven. His performance in these races showcased his talent and determination, solidifying his status in the cycling community.

However, Hoste's career was not without controversy. At the 2006 Paris–Roubaix, he finished in second place but was disqualified by the race jury for illegally riding through a closed level crossing, alongside fellow cyclists Peter Van Petegem and Vladimir Gusev.

In March two thousand thirteen, the Belgian cycling federation initiated a doping case against Hoste. This culminated in a two-year ban confirmed by the UCI on July thirteenth, two thousand fourteen, due to biological passport irregularities, which lasted until December twenty-ninth, two thousand fifteen.
