Lenín Moreno

Lenín Moreno, born on March nineteenth, nineteen fifty-three, is a prominent Ecuadorian politician, writer, and businessperson. He served as the forty-sixth president of Ecuador from two thousand seventeen to two thousand twenty-one, following a tenure as vice president under Rafael Correa from two thousand seven to two thousand thirteen. Moreno's political journey began with his nomination as the candidate for Correa's PAIS Alliance, a social democratic party, in the two thousand seventeen presidential election, where he achieved a narrow victory in the second round of voting on April second.

However, upon taking office, Moreno made a significant pivot away from Correa's leftist policies, altering both domestic and foreign strategies. This shift led to a tumultuous presidency, culminating in an approval rating of just nine percent by the end of his term, marking the lowest in modern Ecuadorian history.
