Leslie Andrew Garay

Leslie Andrew Garay, born Garay László András on August 6, 1924, was a distinguished American botanist renowned for his contributions to the field of botany, particularly in orchidology. His passion for plants and dedication to botanical research led him to become the curator of the Oakes Ames Orchid Herbarium at Harvard University in 1958, succeeding the esteemed Charles Schweinfurth.
