His career spanned several decades, during which he showcased his versatility as a film director, screenwriter, producer, editor, and actor.

Milestone is perhaps best known for his remarkable direction of 'Two Arabian Knights' in nineteen twenty-seven and the iconic 'All Quiet on the Western Front' in nineteen thirty, both of which earned him the prestigious Academy Award for Best Director. His ability to capture the essence of storytelling through film was evident in his subsequent works, including 'The Front Page' in nineteen thirty-one and 'The General Died at Dawn' in nineteen thirty-six.

In nineteen thirty-nine, he adapted John Steinbeck's classic novel 'Of Mice and Men,' further solidifying his reputation as a masterful director. Later in his career, he ventured into the realm of heist films with 'Ocean's 11' in nineteen sixty, showcasing his adaptability to different genres. Although he received directing credit for 'Mutiny on the Bounty' in nineteen sixty-two, it is noted that Marlon Brando took on much of the directorial responsibilities during its production.
