Lhakpa Sherpa

Lhakpa Sherpa, a remarkable Nepalese mountaineer, has etched her name in the annals of climbing history. Born in 1974, she has achieved the extraordinary feat of summiting Mount Everest ten times, a record that stands unmatched by any woman globally. Her tenth ascent, a crowning achievement, took place on May 12, 2022, and was made possible through a successful crowd-funding campaign.

In the year 2000, Lhakpa made history as the first Nepali woman to not only reach the summit of Everest but also to descend it safely. This groundbreaking accomplishment paved the way for future generations of female climbers in Nepal and beyond.
