Liam Ridgewell

Liam Ridgewell, born on July twenty-first, nineteen eighty-four, is a retired English professional footballer who made his mark as a versatile defender. Primarily known for his role as a centre back, he also showcased his skills as a left back throughout his career. After hanging up his boots, Ridgewell transitioned into coaching and currently serves as an assistant coach with the Portland Timbers.

Ridgewell's football journey began at Aston Villa, where he started his senior career. In two thousand two, he gained valuable experience on loan at AFC Bournemouth. His career took a significant turn in two thousand seven when he joined Birmingham City, contributing to the team's triumph in the Football League Cup Final in two thousand eleven.

After two and a half seasons with West Bromwich Albion, Ridgewell was released at the conclusion of the two thousand thirteen to fourteen season. He then signed with the Portland Timbers, where he not only played a pivotal role but also captained the team to victory in the MLS Cup in two thousand fifteen. During the MLS off-season, he further honed his skills with loan spells at Wigan Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Ridgewell concluded his playing career in two thousand twenty, following brief stints at Hull City and Southend United. His journey through the world of football has been marked by resilience and leadership, both on and off the pitch.
