She began her illustrious career at the age of twenty-one, captivating audiences as Kim in the Dutch rendition of the iconic musical Miss Saigon. Her talent further shone through in the RTL 4 drama series Westenwind, where she not only acted but also recorded the poignant song 'Laat me vrij om te gaan.'
Wagenmakers lent her voice to the Dutch version of Disney's Mulan, showcasing her versatility in animation. She was a prominent figure in the original cast of Rocky over the Rainbow, portraying Maggs and later taking on the role of Dorothy. Her musical prowess was highlighted in the Musicals in Ahoy event in two thousand one, where she performed as both Kim from Miss Saigon and Eponine from Les Misérables.
