Linkin Park

Linkin Park, an iconic American rock band, emerged from Agoura Hills, California, in 1996. The current lineup features Mike Shinoda as vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and keyboardist, alongside lead guitarist Brad Delson, DJ Joe Hahn, bassist Dave Farrell, vocalist Emily Armstrong, and drummer Colin Brittain. The band initially included lead vocalist Chester Bennington and drummer Rob Bourdon, but after Bennington's tragic passing in July 2017, the group took a seven-year hiatus, during which Bourdon departed. In September 2024, Linkin Park announced their reformation, welcoming Armstrong and Brittain into the fold.

Primarily categorized as alternative rock and nu metal, Linkin Park's music has evolved significantly over the years. Their early work blended heavy metal with hip hop influences, while later albums incorporated more electronic and pop elements. The band skyrocketed to fame with their debut album, Hybrid Theory, released in 2000, which achieved Diamond certification from the RIAA. The album's singles, including 'One Step Closer,' 'Crawling,' and 'In the End,' received extensive airplay on MTV, with 'In the End' reaching the number two spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Following the success of their second album, Meteora, in 2003, Linkin Park continued to innovate with their sound. Their third album, Minutes to Midnight, released in 2007, marked a significant shift in their musical direction. By the end of the decade, Linkin Park had established themselves as one of the most successful rock acts globally. Their fourth album, A Thousand Suns, released in 2010, further explored electronic sounds, while Living Things in 2012 combined elements from their previous works. The Hunting Party, released in 2014, returned to a heavier rock sound, and their seventh album, One More Light, released in 2017, leaned more towards pop.

In 2024, Linkin Park released their eighth album, From Zero, which revisited their original sound while integrating elements from their entire discography. With over one hundred million records sold worldwide, Linkin Park is among the best-selling music acts in history. Their accolades include two Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, and numerous other honors, solidifying their status in the music industry. MTV2 recognized them as the sixth-greatest band of the music video era, and Billboard ranked them as the nineteenth-best artist of the decade.
