Lisa Su

Lisa Su, born on November seventh, nineteen sixty-nine, is a prominent American business executive and electrical engineer, renowned for her leadership as the president and CEO of Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) since October two thousand fourteen. Originally from Taiwan, she immigrated to the United States with her family at a young age, where she pursued her education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), earning three degrees in electrical engineering and computer science.

Before her tenure at AMD, Su held significant engineering and management roles at Texas Instruments, IBM, and Freescale Semiconductor. At IBM, she was instrumental in developing advanced semiconductor manufacturing technologies, particularly in silicon-on-insulator technology, and contributed to the creation of more efficient semiconductor chips as vice president of the Semiconductor Research and Development Center.

Since joining AMD in two thousand twelve, Su has held various key positions, including senior vice president of global business units and chief operating officer.
