Little Milton

James Milton Campbell Jr., known to the world as Little Milton, was born on September 7, 1934, in the heart of the Mississippi Delta. His journey into the world of music began in 1953 when he recorded his first tracks at Sun Records. Little Milton's passion for blues music would soon lead him to St. Louis, where he co-founded Bobbin Records in 1958, marking the beginning of a prolific career.

Despite his early efforts, it was his signing with Checker Records that catapulted him to fame. Little Milton became a household name with his number-one R&B single, "We're Gonna Make It," and continued to enchant audiences with hits like "Baby, I Love You," "Who's Cheating Who?," and "Grits Ain't Groceries (All Around The World)." His unique blend of soulful vocals and masterful guitar playing set him apart in the music industry.

Throughout his career, Little Milton recorded for several notable labels, including Meteor, Stax, Glades, Golden Ear, MCA, and Malaco. His contributions to the blues genre were recognized when he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1988, solidifying his legacy as one of the greats in American music.

Little Milton's life came to a close on August 4, 2005, but his music continues to resonate with fans around the world. His influence on the blues genre remains significant, and his songs are celebrated for their emotional depth and authenticity.
