Liu Chao-shiuan

Liu Chao-shiuan, born on May tenth, nineteen forty-three, is a distinguished Taiwanese chemist and politician whose contributions have significantly shaped Taiwan's educational and political landscape.

He served as the president of the National Tsing Hua University from nineteen eighty-seven to nineteen ninety-three, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the institution's academic reputation and research capabilities.

Later, Liu took on the presidency of Soochow University from two thousand four to two thousand eight, further demonstrating his commitment to higher education in Taiwan.

In addition to his academic leadership, Liu Chao-shiuan held the esteemed position of Premier of the Republic of China from two thousand eight to two thousand nine, where he navigated the complexities of governance during a critical period in Taiwan's history.
