Lobsang Rampa

Lobsang Rampa, born Cyril Henry Hoskin on April 8, 1910, was an English writer renowned for his exploration of paranormal and occult themes. His literary journey began with the publication of his most famous work, The Third Eye, in 1956, which captivated readers with its intriguing insights into Tibetan culture and spirituality.

Despite the allure of his writings, Rampa's identity was shrouded in controversy. Following the release of The Third Eye, it was revealed that he was not the Tibetan lama he claimed to be, but rather a surgical fitter from Plympton, Devon. This revelation sparked debates about authenticity and the nature of his experiences, as Rampa insisted that his body was a vessel for the spirit of a Tibetan lama named Tuesday Lobsang Rampa.

The name Tuesday, as he explained in his book, was derived from a Tibetan tradition of naming individuals after the day of the week on which they were born. This unique perspective added a layer of mystique to his narrative, further blurring the lines between reality and fiction.
