Born on November 7, 1996, Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, known professionally as Lorde, is a celebrated New Zealand singer-songwriter. She has captivated audiences with her unique approach to pop music and her deeply introspective lyrics. Lorde first emerged on the music scene as a teenager, gaining recognition through a talent show performance that would set the stage for her remarkable career.

In 2009, she signed with Universal Music Group and began collaborating with producer Joel Little. Their partnership led to the release of The Love Club EP in 2012, which was initially offered as a free download on SoundCloud before its commercial release in 2013. The EP's standout single, 'Royals,' achieved phenomenal success, topping charts globally and spending nine weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, ultimately selling ten million units worldwide.

Lorde's debut studio album, Pure Heroine, was released in the same year, receiving both critical acclaim and commercial success.
