Lorenzo Bernardi

Lorenzo Bernardi, born on August 11, 1968, is a distinguished Italian volleyball coach and former player, renowned for his exceptional contributions to the sport. His illustrious career is highlighted by a silver medal at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in 1996, showcasing his talent on an international stage.

Bernardi's prowess on the court is further exemplified by his remarkable achievements as a two-time World Champion, having secured titles in 1990 and 1994. Additionally, he claimed victory as a two-time European Champion in 1989 and 1995, solidifying his status as one of the sport's elite athletes.

In recognition of his outstanding performance, Bernardi was named the best player of both the 1994 World Championship and the 1995 European Championship. His legacy was further cemented in 2001 when the FIVB honored him as the 'Volleyball Player of the Century,' sharing this prestigious title with the legendary Karch Kiraly.
