Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Loretta Lynch

Loretta Lynch, born on May twenty-first, nineteen fifty-nine, is a distinguished American attorney and politician who made history as the eighty-third Attorney General of the United States from two thousand fifteen to two thousand seventeen. Appointed by President Barack Obama, she succeeded Eric Holder and became the first African-American woman to hold this prestigious position.

A graduate of Harvard Law School, Lynch began her legal career in New York, where she became a federal prosecutor in nineteen ninety. She quickly rose through the ranks to lead the Eastern District office, overseeing federal prosecutions across Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island. After a brief return to private practice, she was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of New York again in two thousand ten.

In November two thousand fourteen, President Obama nominated Lynch to become Attorney General. Her confirmation by the Senate in April two thousand fifteen was marked by a narrow vote of fifty-six to forty-three, reflecting her strong support among Democrats and some Republicans. During her tenure, which concluded in January two thousand seventeen, Lynch focused on various critical issues, including civil rights and law enforcement reform.

After leaving her role as Attorney General, Lynch joined the law firm Paul, Weiss in May two thousand nineteen as a partner in the litigation department, continuing her commitment to justice and legal excellence.
