Lou Dobbs, born on September 24, 1945, is a prominent American radio personality, journalist, and television presenter known for his conservative political commentary. He began his career with CNN at its inception in 1980, where he served as a reporter and later as the network's vice president. Dobbs became widely recognized as the host and managing editor of the business program Moneyline, which premiered in the same year.

After resigning from CNN in 1999, Dobbs returned to the network in 2001, and his show was rebranded as Lou Dobbs Tonight in 2003. He left CNN again in November 2009, transitioning to Fox Business Network, where he hosted Lou Dobbs Tonight until its cancellation in February 2021. Throughout his career, Dobbs was known for his strong views on immigration and trade, often opposing NAFTA and other trade agreements. Additionally, he was involved in the Dominion Voting Systems v. Fox News Network lawsuit, which resulted in a settlement of seven hundred eighty-seven point five million dollars, requiring Fox News to acknowledge the falsehoods broadcasted about the company's voting machines.
