Louie Caporusso, born on June twenty-first, nineteen eighty-nine, is an accomplished Italian-Canadian ice hockey player currently under contract with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL. His journey in professional hockey began after being drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the third round, with the ninetieth overall pick, during the two thousand seven NHL entry draft.
Caporusso's collegiate career flourished at the University of Michigan, where he played from two thousand seven to two thousand eleven. His standout performance during the two thousand eight to two thousand nine season earned him a spot on the All-Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) first team, and he was recognized as a first-team AHCA/Reebok Division I Ice Hockey All-American. Notably, he led the nation in goals scored for a significant portion of that season.
In the following season, two thousand nine to two thousand ten, Caporusso continued to shine, being named to the CCHA All-tournament team and playing a pivotal role in leading the Wolverines to the championship. His impressive skills on the ice were honed during his junior hockey days in Ontario, Canada, which ultimately paved the way for his selection by the Senators.
After completing his senior season, Caporusso signed with the Senators on May thirtieth, two thousand eleven. Since then, he has dedicated several years to minor league hockey and has also gained international experience, playing for various teams in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga and the East Coast Hockey League.
