Louis Hostin

Louis Hostin, born on April twenty-first, nineteen oh eight, was a distinguished French weightlifter whose athletic prowess shone brightly in the early twentieth century. Competing in the Olympics of 1928, 1932, and 1936, Hostin made a remarkable impact by medaling at each of these prestigious events. He secured a silver medal at the 1928 Summer Games, followed by a stellar performance that earned him gold medals in both the 1932 and 1936 Olympics.

In addition to his Olympic success, Hostin was a formidable competitor on the European stage, clinching two European titles in nineteen thirty and nineteen thirty-five. His talent was further showcased at the world championships, where he earned two medals in the years nineteen thirty-seven and nineteen thirty-eight. Between nineteen twenty-seven and nineteen thirty-nine, he dominated the national scene, winning an impressive thirteen national titles and setting ten official world records—seven in the snatch and three in the clean and jerk.

Hostin's contributions to the sport were recognized long after his competitive days, as he was inducted into the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame in nineteen ninety-four.
