Louis, King of Cyprus

Louis, King of Cyprus, was born in June of the year one thousand four hundred thirty-six. He emerged as a significant historical figure when he ascended to the throne of Cyprus in the year one thousand four hundred fifty-nine, serving as the husband and co-ruler alongside Queen Charlotte. Their union marked a notable chapter in the island's history, as they navigated the complexities of governance during a tumultuous period.

In addition to his royal duties in Cyprus, Louis held the title of Count of Geneva from one thousand four hundred sixty until one thousand four hundred eighty-two. This dual role allowed him to exert influence beyond the shores of Cyprus, intertwining the fates of these two regions under his leadership.

Louis was the second son of Louis, Duke of Savoy, and Anne of Lusignan, who was the daughter of King Janus of Cyprus. His lineage connected him to a rich tapestry of European nobility, which undoubtedly shaped his perspectives and ambitions as a ruler.
